Hundreds of Michael Jackson fans have performed the dance routine to his hit single Thriller in celebration of what would have been the singer's 51st birthday. Wearing Jackson-inspired clothing, the "flashmob"-style group gathered in London's Trafalgar Square, where they performed their homage to the 1982 song. Many heard about the mass dance on social networking website Facebook and picked up the routine at Pineapple Dance Studios in Covent Garden or by watching the moves on YouTube. Organiser Ilana Lorraine said: "When Michael Jackson died I thought I'd organise something on his birthday that would bring everyone together as one. It all came together and it was incredible. The place was full of people." 30-year-old Ms Lorraine plans further Jackson-related "flashmobs" in the capital, including a mass sing-along and more dances. "I'm a massive fan of Michael Jackson so I 100 per cent want to keep him alive," she said. "And London's a place that needs to be lightened up." Thriller became the world's best-selling record of all time, yielding seven top-10 singles.
