Fishing industry leaders have hit out at a deal agreed in Brussels today that will cut the amount of North Sea cod that can be caught. Cod quotas will fall by between 14% and 20% next year, with the number of days allowed for fishing also reduced. But permitted prawn, haddock, mackerel and monkfish catches will increase. Fisheries minister Ben Bradshaw said UK fleets would not lose out. GVs fish market / Ben Bradshaw MP (Fisheries Minister) SOT
