Film reveals secret life of Karadzic

The latest amateur footage of Radovan Karadzic has emerged, while he was hiding from UN war crimes investigators. Shot on the 22nd of June this year, the film shows the former Bosnian Serb leader pictured at a garden party at a clinic near Belgrade. Going under the pseudonym Dragan Dabic during more than a decade in hiding, Karadzic greets the host of a party where he practised alternative medicine. Meanwhile, the Serbian war crimes court is still waiting for delivery of Karadzic's appeal. And, Karadzic's lawyer admitted posting the appeal at the last minute to thwart Serbian authorities: ''When did I send it? How? That's a strategy for the defence because if I had told you when and from which post office I had sent it, be sure that the appeal would have been rejected on Friday evening and Radovan would have been in the Hague in the morning.'' Nationalist supporters claim authorities are trying to extradite the former Bosnian Serb leader before a pro-Karadzic rally planned for Tuesday. Under Serb law a panel of judges has three days to consider the appeal against extradition to the UN war crimes tribunal in the Hague. Karadzic, who faces charges of genocide during the mid-1990s Bosnian war, was arrested last week.
