FBI's 'body identity' plan - 23 Dec 07

An invasion of privacy? Or a valuable weapon in the fight against crime? America's Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is embarking on a billion-dollar plan to build the world's largest biometric database. The scheme would see not only fingerprints and eyes scanned, but physical characteristics and even scars stored on record. Critics say the plan will lead to people's bodies becoming de facto identification cards. Nick Spicer reports.
