The remote location of San Carlos in the Falkland Islands provided a daunting task for the men of 3 Commando Brigade as they prepared to march across a mined landscape of mountain, rock and peat bog to reach Stanley. It became the now infamous 'yomp' - a long, torturous walk that British marines and paratroopers were forced to endure. It ended in the liberation of the capital, Stanley, on June 14, 1982.
