Evening Standard Theatre Awards 2008 - Arrivals & Departures

London: 24 November 2008 A short trip over to Covent Garden at ten this morning to queue for the Evening Standard Theatre Awards. I was a bit late though and could only get second row. It was a tiny fan area and as a star studded cast was expected, there was plenty of competition for spots. My trusty stool solved the heads in the way problem. Plenty of star talent was on show from several generations of UK theatre folk. Stars aged in their twenties and stars in their seventies were all happy to interact with the fans and photographers waiting at the gate. There werent many requests for two heads shots but plenty for autographs. Jude Law created the biggest stir, making it hard for him to get to his car after the event. Kenneth Branagh, Josh Hartnett and David Tennant sparked a crush too, theyre currently very popular with fans and were happy to sign and pose. Stars spotted: Richard Wilson Donald Sinden Gawn Granger Jude Law Charles Dance Michael Grandage Josh Hartnett Maureen Lipman Kenneth Branagh Kevin McNally Felicity Kendall Ella Smith David Tennant Sadie Frost Sir Derek Jacobi Jessica Hynes Adrian Lester Greg Wise David Furnace Kenneth Cranham As usual, please let me know of omissions, errors and comments.
