Erlangen - Job cuts at Siemens and Resilient Northern Bavarians

Siemens is planning to cut more than five thousand jobs in Germany. Hardest hit will be Erlangen and Nuremberg. A third of the working population in Erlangen is employed by Siemens. The town has survived earlier closures and come out stronger. It is a centre of research and technological innovation. Erlangen and the threatened job cuts at Siemens.
