Drew Barrymore has hit the red carpet at the Toronto Film Festival to unveil her directorial debut. The actress-turned-director arrived with the star of Whip It, Oscar-nominated 22-year-old Ellen Page. The film is about a rebellious Texan teen who trades a shot at a beauty pageant crown for a spot on a roller derby league. Page charmed audiences in Juno in 2007, for which she scored her first nomination at the Academy Awards. Barrymore said she was the perfect choice for the role: "My whole intention in life is to be genuine and there is no one on the planet that is more emblematic of being true to herself and that was for me the dream person to be in the movie. "I'm so lucky that she said yes."
