It was announced days before the draft that the Miami Dolphins agreed to terms with Michigan offensive lineman, Jake Long, making the former Wolverine the first over-all pick in 2008 NFL Draft. "I'm very excited and honored to be a part of the Miami Dolphins and this organization," said Long in a press conference. After going 1-15 last season, the Dolphins have turned things around and started the season 5-4. The improved Miami offense has been anchored by the line, with Long starting every game so far this season. Long started 40 games during his college days and served as a two-time captain (one of only 11 players in Michigan history to have been given that honor). He was named Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2006 and again in 2007. He finished second last year in balloting for both the Lombardi and Outland trophies.
