Interview Colonel Jorge Mendonca, who resigned from the British Army after being accused of war crimes in Iraq, has criticised the Blair government's strategy and accused his superiors of making him a scapegoat. Colonel Mendonca was cleared by a court martial this year of failing to ensure that Iraqi civilians weren't mistreated by his soldiers. Colonel Mendonca said he'd been made a fall guy by the Army, which was under pressure from Westminster.
