Crowe's Merkle Says U.S. Is in 'Automotive Recession'

Erich Merkle, analyst for consulting firm Crowe Chizek & Co., talks with Bloomberg's Kathleen Hays in New York about U.S. auto sales in August and the outlook for an industry recovery. General Motors Corp. and Ford Motor Co., the biggest U.S. automakers, said domestic sales fell at least 20 percent in August as demand for trucks continued to plunge because of record gasoline prices.
