Crimes charges against Iran sought - 22 Jun 09 Payam Akhavan, a former UN war crimes prosecutor at The Hague and co-founder of the Iran Human Rights Documentation Centre, is working on a petition to send to the UN Security Council and The Hague - that will look into Iran's post-election violence. In an interview to Al Jazeera from New York, Akhavan said: "the Iranian regime can't continue to suppress people unless they resort to mass murder".
