CRIME: Rhys Jones murder: Parents appeal

The parents of Rhys Jones, the 11-year-old boy shot outside the Fir Tree pub on 22.8.07, said they plan to leave the area they've called home for nearly two decades because they don't feel safe. In their first full interview since Rhys was murdered, Stephen and Melanie Jones said they must move for the sake of Rhys' brother. The couple said they blamed the killer's parents for his death; Rhys' mum asking 'What kind of people are they? They must know it's their kid". In a direct appeal to the killer they added: "Turn yourself in; how can you live with yourself?" Earlier today their call for people to come forward with information was backed by the Everton Squad; Rhys' footballing heroes paying tribute to him and his family, in Croxteth.
