CRIME: Abduction of 3-year-old girl: IPC report says South Wales Police acted too slowly

The family of a 3-year-old girl who was kidnapped and repeatedly subjected to sexual assaults are to sue South Wales police after a report found they could have prevented some of her 'terrifying ordeal'. The Independent Police Complaints Commission said South Wales Police could have acted more quickly in trying to catch her abductor. Craig Sweeney, who took the child from her home in Cardiff on January 2nd, whilst her mother was busy on the phone, was caught by the Police the next morning, after he crashed his car following a police chase. The IPCC was asked to investigate South Wales Police's conduct after the girl's father complained they were too slow in trying to find her. Today the family was offered an apology.
