This program is carried out by Fundación Paraguaya which targets groups of enterprising women who create a village bank through which they receive assistance in terms of loans. The program renders services in the areas of financial, social and personal needs for women of scarce means in the country. Women for Development wants to undertake a particular path to ensuring that women whose needs are not met by the current financial system can be future business people with financial capital, but even more importantly, with human capital. The program seeks to reach the greatest number of women, giving them the opportunity to carry out economic activities which enable them to live in dignity and contribute to a better quality of life in their homes. The challenge of the village community banking program, Women for Development, is to fight for this challenge, establishing goals to render services to meet the needs of women of scarce resources in Paraguay. Values are transmitted as well, such as the advantages of setting up solidarity groups, establishing a sense of community while discovering the path that will enable them to be independent in the future.
