Combining Counties To Create "Lake Wobegon"

The counties of Stearns, Benton and a portion of Sherburne County containing St. Cloud and Haven Township would be combined into a new county, under a bill introduced by Sen. Tarryl Clark, DFL-St. Cloud. Reps. Larry Haws, DFL-St. Cloud, and Larry Hosch, DFL-St. Joseph, speak on the proposa as welll. The bill has been referred to as the "Lake Wobegon County" proposal, but the naming of the combined county would be decided by the community.
