Christmas at Highland Park, Texas 2006

Highland Park is one of the most elegant neighborhoods in the nation, worthy of a scenic drive through town at any time of year. Enhancing the exquisitely decorated homes and yards during the holiday season, more Christmas lights can be seen at historic Highland Village, a richly landscaped Spanish Mediterranean-style shopping center that literally glows each year with the holiday spirit, boasting a three-story tall Christmas tree and a universe of twinkling lights. From here, discriminating visitors can bask in inspiring views of the neighborhood illuminations via private horse-drawn carriage rides. Hundreds of thousands of holiday lights illuminate the several blocks that encompass this part of town, reflecting in the eyes of starry-eyed SMU students and other locals, who descend on the upper-class Dallas neighborhood to partake in walking tours and other means of exploring the seasonal spectacle.
