CHINA: Paris Hilton holds a news conference in Shanghai ahead of attending the MTV Style Gala

The American millionaire hotel heiress turned TV personality, Paris Hilton, is in Shanghai to attend the 2007 MTV Style Gala on Friday (November 23) evening. On her maiden trip to China, Hilton will be touring Shanghai's most famous tourist spots, doing some shopping, as well as sampling the local cuisine. During a news conference on Thursday (November 22), she said she would be wearing a traditional dress made by local designer Lu Kun (pron: loo-koon) for the gala. "I love the Chinese fashion. I think it's really beautiful and very unique. And he actually gave me a lot of dresses so I'll be wearing them at the MTV Style Gala, and they are just beautiful. When I travel, I always love to wear the designers of where I am at that time. Just because I think it's fun when you are travelling to try different designers and try on new clothes," she said. Reacting to her debut trip to China, she said she has been very impressed by the Shanghai facade. "I've always loved Chinese fashion. I've always loved Chinese food. But I've never actually been here before. And it's more beautiful than I ever thought it would be. It's really, it looks like the future. When I drove in here, I've never seen a city look like this with the skyline. So, I don't know, it's like nowhere I've ever been and I was very surprised about how different it looks. It looks European sometimes, and then it looks so old and traditional Chinese, which is very cool," she said. When asked of the pregnancy of Nicole Richie, her co-star in the reality TV show "A Simple Life", she said that she was also looking forward to be a mum in the next few years. "Yeah, I am so happy for Nicole. I know she's going to be an amazing mother and she's having the baby in two months, so I am very excited. I definitely want to have children, not right now, I am not ready yet. But within the next couple of years, I'd loved to get married and have my own family. So yes, definitely," she said. 26-year-old Hilton, is a member of the family that founded the Hilton Hotel chain. She gained fame as a celebrity debutante and turned her notoriety into a career as an actress, singer and pitch person for products from perfume to shoes. But this year, Hilton ran afoul of Los Angeles law enforcement officials and in June served three weeks in jail on drink driving charges.
