CHINA: Attempts to control the flow of narcotics from Burma

The UN special envoy Ibrahim Gambari arrived in Burma on 3 November 2007 on his second visit aimed at persuading the miliitary junta to pursue political reforms. But arguably it's not the United Nations but China which holds most sway with the Burmese junta. And top of China's priorities is a cut in the drugs that flood over from across the Burmese border.
