Would-be Santas are being put through their paces by a recruitment agency in Germany. It seems a long white beard, a red coat, and a belly that shakes like a bowl full of jelly, are no longer enough. Those hoping to work for the Berlin Santa Agency, which provides Father Christmases to help reduce stress on the big day, are put through an audition process. The agency organises Santa castings, with a jury usually made up of three people, and those who pass the test receive their very own diploma.Boss Hu-Ping Chen says there are some key attributes they're looking for: "The ideal candidate needs to like children, he should enjoy Christmas and should know the traditions around Christmas."He should know at least one Christmas carol, perhaps even a poem. Those are the minimal conditions, but we reckon that every student can fulfil those."© Independent Television News Limited 2007. All rights reserved.
