BUSINESS: Northern Rock crisis: More customers demand their money

For a second day thousands of nervous Northern Rock customers have again besieged the bank and demanded their money back. Some began queuing before dawn outside branches across the country, some queues stretching for one hundred yards or so. One couple has even demanded a million pounds. All were again ignoring claims that their money was safe, leading some experts to question whether the bank could survive in it's present form.
