Gordon Brown called her a "true pioneer" who campaigned on green issues years before they were fashionable in just one of many tributes to the Body Shop founder Anita Roddick, who died suddenly after a brain haemorrhage at the age of 64. For many years, Dame Anita Roddick was the most famous and one of the richest businesswomen in Britain. She appeared to be different from other entrepreneurs, with her mission to make the world a better place, as well as make money.
