Bush Fires Destroy Homes in South Australia

WONG: Moving onto Australia where authorities in theh south of the country have confirmed at least two houses were burned to the ground as fire crews tried to contain a fire in northern Sydney today. A fire broke out in the afternoon and looked like it would spread and destroy many Sydney homes at its peak. But more than 100 firefighters managed to contain the blaze later in the afternoon. Scorching weather conditions and strong winds fuelled another fire in South Australia which destroyed several sheds and two houses. Authorities warn residents in Port Lincoln region to be vigilant and ready to evacuate.
