Synopsis Today is the unveiling of Sydney?s contribution to world peace, The Flame of Hope and the glitterati have gathered at the Opera House for the historic event. A radical design by the ambitious Lily Lent, the Flame will harness the suns energy to create a permanent fireball so great that it can be seen from space ? in theory. The thing is, it has never been tested. Lily?s veneer of self confidence threatens to crack at any time as she deals with the day?s problems, particularly her boss?s paranoia about safety, her ex lover?s interference and her troublesome brother. Burning Ambition is a comedic retelling of the Narcissus myth that asks ?does self adoration lead to self destruction?? 2004 35mm Colour Cinemascope 1:2.35 24fps Dolby SR/SRD 14?30 Director Alister Grierson Writer Alister Grierson Producer Leesa Kahn Cinematographer Jules O?Loughlin Sound Designer Derryn Pasquill Sound Recordist Jake Brown Max Crawford Sound Mixer Chris McKeith Editor Adrian Rostirolla Production Designer Ross Perkin Music Score Tamara O?Brien Production Company Australian Film Television and Radio School Cast Lily Mary Ducker Parrot Ben Barrack Button Marc Carra Brownie Nick Flynt
