Broadside: Mass. special election and interim Senator debate

(NECN) - Senator Bruce Tarr, a Republican of Gloucester, and George Bachrach, a former Democratic State Senator join Jim Braude to discuss the upcoming special election in Massachusetts. Also, today the House gave initial approval to a bill allowing Gov. Deval Patrick to name an interim appointment to the Senate seat left vacant by the death of Edward Kennedy. The House voted 97-58 in favor of the bill Thursday evening. The vote doesn't come without criticism however. read more
