British telecommunications industry set for shake up

The cost of mobile phone calls and texts should be cut dramatically and customers should find it easier to swap phone companies and broadband providers under a new super regulator. So says the European Commissioner for Information and Media, Viviane Reding. She thinks that national regulators like Ofcom have too cosy a relationship with the telecom giants.
