Boyzone singer Stephen Gately has died at the age of 33. The band's official website has confirmed the tragic news, saying he was on holiday in Majorca with his partner, Andrew. The rest of the pop group are said to be travelling to the country today. They, along with manager Louis Walsh are said to be devastated. Stephen Gately was born in Dublin and had been involved in entertainment from a young age. He answered an advert looking for men to audition for Ireland's first boyband. Along with Ronan Keating, Shane Lynch, Keith Duffy and Michael Graham they had phenomenal success with 17 top 5 singles and four number 1 albums. When the band took a break Stephen released some solo material and then went on to play a number of musical theatre roles from Joseph to The Child Catcher with great reviews. Boyzone were set to release a new album in 2010.
