Boozy Allen lets slip on engagement

Lily Allen's drinking blunders could have got her into trouble once again after she let slip that her brother is engaged to girlfriend Jaime Winstone. The Smile star, who was co-hosting the GQ Men of the Year awards in London, introduced Winstone to the stage by saying: "Please welcome my very soon-to-be sister-in-law Jamie Winstone." When she came on, Allen asked her: "Where's the Elizabeth Duke diamond, man?" The Kidulthood actress said in response: "Shut up, no one's supposed to know." Co-host Elton John looked shocked and quizzed Allen off camera: "Is Alfie marrying her?", to which she murmured, "Yeah." Allen, who was noticeably inebriated throughout the night, was ridiculed by Sir Elton on a number of occasions. When Allen told the audience, "Now we reach a very special point in the evening", Sir Elton replied sarcastically: "What, you are going to have another drink?" She retorted: "Elton, I'm 40 years younger than you, I have my whole life ahead of me." Also off camera Allen revealed she turned down the chance to appear on Strictly Come Dancing because it was "career suicide".
