Bodies found in burning car

Two bodies have been found inside a burning car in a lay-by.Police said the deaths were being treated as suspicious until the circumstances can be established. The blazing car was found on a lay-by off the A47 north of Earl Shilton, near Hinckley, Leicestershire.A police cordon has been set up and a blue tent erected around the burnt-out vehicle, which is 200 yards from the main road.Police said they have been unable to establish whether both victims were male, female or even adults because of the intensity of the fire. The car will also need further examination to establish its make and model.A Leicestershire Police spokeswoman said: "Because of the ferocity of the fire, identification of the deceased and determining what happened might take some time. We are keeping an open mind. It is too early to speculate."© Independent Television News Limited 2007. All rights reserved.
