On Thursday, June 12, 2008 at the WACO Community High School, Coach Bob Hilmer's elementary basketball camp for 4th-6th graders concluded with trophy awards. Hilmer, Austin McBeth, and Terry Rodgers led the camp. During camp, the boys scrimmaged, practiced drills, learned new basketball secrets, strategies, and techniques for dribbling, guarding, throwing, and much more. Instructors demonstrated different techniques and strategies, and gave both physical examples and explanations of techniques used. The camp was well worth the money and financially affordable to all. The high quality of this basketball camp was reflected in its high instructor to student ratio and plenty of attention and interaction that kept the boys constantly focused and interested while they worked hard at improving their basketball skills and enjoying the rewards of participating in a structured group setting. Coach Bob Hilmer is the winningest high school coach in Iowa. Some of the participating students were Corbin Schultz, Ian Poe, Joe Mitchell, and Austin Roehrig. If you participated in this and would like your name included in this list, please contact and inform.
