It has emerged the late Queen Mother "regretted" Prince Charles' decision to speak publicly about his failed marriage to Princess Diana. The information has come out in her official biography, which also discloses details about her passion for horse racing and how she successfully underwent treatment for colon cancer when she was in her sixties. At the time of the cancer operation in 1966, a statement was released claiming the Queen Mother had undergone abdominal surgery to relieve a partial obstruction. In William Shawcross' biography, rumours are dispelled that she was fitted with a colostomy bag. The book also reveals how her favourite television programmes included Dad's Army, Fawlty Towers and Keeping Up Appearances. She would spend evenings watching videos of classic episodes. She died at the age of 101 in 2002.
