Austrian veteran Stefan Gimpl out-performed the groms by winning the Stockholm round of Snowboarding's Big Air World Cup. The 30-year-old entered the event as the man to beat after impressive performances in London and Barcelona earlier and he did not disappoint the 20,000 strong crowd at the venue of the 1912 Olympic Stadium, scoring 50.8 points in the final. Slovenia's Marko Grilic was second with 50.5 and Norway's Gjermund Braaten was third with 38.5. Gimpl's victory is all the more sweeter as he had failed to finish on the podium in Stockholm in three previous appearances. His best result was fourth in 2008.
