Bhutto's last moments: new video

New video footage has emerged of the last moments before former Pakistani prime minister Benazir Bhutto was killed in Rawalpindi.The amateur video (which has no sound) appears to show her slumped on the roof of the car before an explosion.It would appear to lend credibility to claims by her supporters who suggest she was shot before the explosion happened. The government maintains that she was killed when she hit her head against the sunroof as a result of the blast.The video comes to light as a Scotland Yard team is preparing to travel to Pakistan to help with the probe into her assassination.Prime Minister Gordon Brown agreed to send the "technical experts" following a request from President Pervez Musharraf.A Scotland Yard spokesman said: "We can confirm that at the request of the Pakistan government a small team of officers from the Met Counter Terrorism Command will be travelling to Pakistan. The officers will travel as soon as possible. The Pakistan authorities continue to lead the investigation into Benazir Bhutto's death."Meanwhile Pakistan is bracing itself for violence after it was decided to postpone elections scheduled for the weekend in the wake of the former prime minister's murder.So far on the streets of Larkana in her home province of Sindh the situation remains calm.The country's election commission announced on Wednesday voting would be delayed for six weeks.Opposition parties, including Ms Bhutto's own Pakistan People's Party (PPP), believe the postponement will not help their cause and deny them the chance of victory against President Pervez Musharraf.Ms Bhutto's party would expect to reap a considerable sympathy vote following her assassination in a gun and bomb attack as she left a rally in Rawalpindi a week ago.Nearly 60 people were killed in the ensuing violence and analysts said a postponement could lead to renewed rioting.© Independent Television News Limited 2008.
