While out shopping at the market, Samantha is inspired by a salesman's demonstration of an electric garage door which opens automatically by remote control. When Samantha returns home, she opens her garage with her own remote: a magical twitch of her nose. Gladys Kravitz sees this, and plagues her husband Abner to question the Stephens. The Stephens must now find a way to cover up the witchcraft, and forgoing the purchase of new fishing gear, Darrin buys a remote control for their garage. Not long afterwards, radio signals from passing planes make the door appear to have a mind of its own. Thinking the door is broken, Samantha asks Darrin to return the device and use the money for his fishing gear, but Darrin thinks Sam is intentionally causing the electronic mayhem. He accuses her of using her powers to make the door operate like a yo-yo and refuses to believe her when she swears never to use magic again. Later that evening, Samantha and Darrin end up trapped in the garage when a plane signal closes and locks the door. The two quarrel when Darrin again accuses Samantha of magical mechanical machinations. Darrin demands that Sam open the door, but she stands by her vow, refusing his request. In the midst of the spat, another airplane flies by and the door flies open. Darrin is finally convinced that Samantha had nothing to do with the possessed garage door, and the two kiss and make up. The Kravitzes then get a remote control for their garage too, but don't keep it for long. While proudly demonstrating their new technology, Gladys plows right through her garage door.
