Bethlehem Fire Dept. Ladder 2 fatal accident; 8th Avenue

Ladder 2 was traveling North on 8th Avenue, in what appeared to be in the southbound lane and collided head-on with a car around 12:30 Friday afternoon. The driver of the car had to be extricated from the vehicle and is being treated for injuries at a local hospital. The driver of the fire truck is distraught and being treated at a local hospital. 8th Avenue was closed for most of the afternoon while the Bethlehem Police investigated. The crime scene unit was also called to the scene. The driver of the car died from his injuries on November 1, 2008. See photos of the car uncovered at our website http://www.newsworking.org
