From http://GamblersTelevision.com The Belmont Stakes Win Selection (6:25PM ET) (ABC) Big Brown is searching for a Triple Crown and will have a tough time getting it. As the 2-5 favorite in the race, I will look to beat him on Saturday. Big Brown is running his 3rd race in 5 weeks in the grueling distance of 1 ½ miles. His breeding suggests it's not an ideal distance. Big Brown suffered a quarter crack in his left front hoof and will be fitted with an acrylic and fiberglass patch. Big Brown's trainer says his injury wont play a big role in the race. The injury may not but the equipment change might. These are finicky animals and not humans and who's to say Big Brown wont like running with a patch. The Belmont has produced an average payout of $36.86 over the past 10 years. I expect to get paid in that vicinity here. Tale of Ekati has two races over the track surface and two victories. After his maiden win the colt was entered against solid stakes company competing in 4 Grade 2 and 3 Grade 1 races. He comes in fresh off a 5-week layoff. Jockey Eibar Coa is New York based, knows the track and has ridden Tale of Ekati in his two victories at Belmont Park. His trainer Barclay Tagg is based in New York and is hitting at 38% winners at Belmont Park this season. I expect Big Brown to get the lead in this race in the 1 hole and tire and get past in the stretch by the plodding style of Tale of Ekati. I am looking at Casino Drive as a possible threat here as well. Casino Drive is coming off an impressive prep in the Peter Pan at Belmont Park four weeks ago. His Brisnet Speed rating was an impressive 107 racing off a 2-½ month layoff. Horses are usually better in their second race off the layoff. If that's the case Casino Drive is a huge threat here. So we will play on two horses to win betting equal amounts. Play on the 7 horse Tale of Ekati at 20-1 and the 5 horse Casino Drive at 7-2. We will earn 19 units with a Tale of Ekati victory or 2 ½ units with a Casino Drive victory.
