http://AskTheTrainer.com/legs-and-butt-exercises.html The one leg squat is a good exercise to test your balance and presence of muscle imbalances as well as work your legs and butt. This is the beginner version in which you hold something lightly to aid your balance, this will allow you to concentrate on your muscles more. Stand on a bench, step or plyo box and put one leg off the edge. Lower that leg like your are testing the water with your bottom foot. You should push your butt back behind you before you bend your knee. You goal is to get down to parallel but it is very difficult for anybody with excess body mass. If you see your knee bend inwards or outwards during this squat you may have a muscle imbalance. If your knee travels inwards or outwards in relationship to your toe you should start a corrective flexibility program. http://AskTheTrainer.com/posture-problems.html Personal Trainer Michael Behnken, MS, NASM-CPT-PES, CSCS http://AskTheTrainer.com/exercise-information.html
