Bees and Honey

Did you know that one third of the human food supply depends on insect pollination and most of this is accomplished by Bees? Join us as we visit a Sonoma County Beekeeper and honey producer, Arrowsmith Farms. We take an exciting look into a bee hive to learn how a bee colony evolves and how honey is produced. An interesting fact is that a honeybee queen may lay 2000 eggs per day during spring buildup, but she also must lay 1000-1500 eggs per day during the foraging season, simply to replace the casualties. Talking about being, Busy as a Bee! Be sure to visit Arrowsmith Farms' booth at both the Marin and Sonoma Farmer's markets.
