Aug 28: Stuart Schweitzer on whether the cult of equity is now finished

Stuart Schweitzer, global market strategist for JP Morgan’s Private Bank says: "The likelihood is that we are going to have more frequent cycles; the cycles are going to be shorter. Recessions, I think, are going to come more frequently and that’s going to challenge people. It’s going to mean that buy and hold is going to be, at times, uncomfortable, I think it probably will not be the best strategy – if you can time but who among us can time?" He adds: "I don’t see people really abandoning equities in here although I do think that having been hurt by the vicious bear market, two in a row now, so quick in succession, that people will be inclined to be less greedy this time around. Do you know what? I think that’s a good thing."
