As the special envoy for the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) flew into the Armenian capital Yerevan, soldiers patrolled its streets. Outoing President Robert Kocharyan imposed emergency laws after fierce clashes between police and protestors on Saturday (1st March). The protestors say the recent presidential election which was won by Kocharyan ally, the Prime Minister Serzh Sarksyan, was rigged.
