ARMED FORCES: Army being overstretched / Another soldier dies in Iraq

The Ministery of Defence said tonight a British soldier from the the Second Royal Tank Regiment has died after another attack on their base in Basra. His family have been informed. The three RAF servicemen killed in an attack on the base on Thursday were also named. Their deaths make a warning today from the head of the army all the more poignant. In a confidential memo Sir Richard Dannatt claims he has almost no spare troops to cope with an unexpected emergency.
