ARGENTINA: Viggo Mortensen promotes his latest film, "A History of Violence" in Buenos Aires

The star of the "Lord of the Rings", actor Viggo Mortensen, returned to his boyhood home of Argentina on Tuesday (November 16) to promote his latest film 'A History of Violence'. Mortensen, who lived in Argentina from age three until he was 12, was in Buenos Aires for the opening of "A History of Violence" which also stars Ed Harris and William Hurt. The movie is about a bloody self defense incident involving Mortensen, a mild mannered man whose hidden past comes back to haunt him. "Violence is always a current topic, it always has been. It is part of a sane human being in some way or another," said Mortensen at a news conference. Mortensen shot to fame with his role of the hero Aragorn in Peter Jackson's trilogy of films. He is also an equestrian, an acclaimed photographer, and an accomplished author. He was born in New York to a Danish father and American mother before moving to South America where Viggo Sr. managed farms and ranches in Venezuela and Argentina.
