The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, has said that our obsession with having it all is costing young people their health and wellbeing. He has teamed up with the Children's Society to highlight the findings of a major enquiry. One finding is that one in ten young people are suffering from some form of measurable mental health problem. It is suggested that society is to blame; children are too concerned with what they have and how much it cost and the pressure on them to succeed is simply too great. This follows weeks of stories claiming that the youngest and most vulnerable are in crisis, keeping their demons at bay with drink, drugs and diet.
