Apology to YouTube/SquareEnix

Edited copy of original mail sent to Youtube/Square On the 26th July 2011 I uploaded my final video of Kid Chameleon to my channel. I then went inactive for a week or so, as I was putting finishing touches onto another game I was recording, Final Fantasy 8. I came to upload Final Fantasy 8 on 3rd August 2011 and saw that they had failed to upload, due to being rejected for being too long. It appears that I had lost my privilege to upload +15 Minute length videos somewhere after 26th July 2011. This was alarming, and my first thought was that it was due to copyright claims against my account (None I may add which required any action on my part, they all had a similar message to "You don't need to do anything, your video has been blocked in x,x,x,x,x/Ads will appear next to a video). As I'm sure you're aware, occasionally the copyright claims are incorrect, so I challenged a good number of them which I felt were incorrectly tagged to see if this would return my +15 minute privilege to me (I had consulted the Help Forums/Help Centre extensively, but could not find a clear answer on why my +15 Privilege had been taken away except in discussion around the +15 minute privilege being given to people who follow the rules). I challenged a particular video (Final Fantasy 7 49), which at first I believe was under fair use, but I had fully forgotten had a clip from Square Enix's Advent Children Movie within it. This then was met with a full take down request and deletion on 5th August 2011, and a strike against my account in relation to copyright. I am sure that this may mean that my +15 Minute privileges are gone for good now, but I am writing to you in the earnest hope that you may reconsider the strike, and also return to me the option of uploading over 15 minutes. I have also sent this letter to both the US and Euro headquarters of Square Enix, as I would just like to say, I would also never want to infringe on your own copyright, as I have been a huge fan of the Final Fantasy series for as long as I can remember. Please accept my deepest apologies for any infringement that you felt went too far. I only post Walkthroughs/Playthroughs with commentary to showcase some of the amazing games that people may of missed (On a personal note my favourite has always been Final Fantasy 8), as in this day and age, unfortunately some people have never heard of, or forgotten about the origins of video games. I would like to re-iterate that I make no money from these videos what so-ever, I am not a Youtube partner. I am not a person who feels it appropriate to shout and complain about this situation, as I understand that it is my privilege to upload videos to Youtube, and my privilege to allow me to upload +15 minute videos. I understand that everything I do on Youtube is because you let me do the things I do. But I respectfully and earnestly ask for my situation to be reviewed. I have also posted a video regarding the whole issue on www.youtube.com/necroscope86, again not shouting/complaining, but honestly trying to apologise for my error. I would never want to make things more difficult for myself, and never ever want to damage my relationship with Youtube directly, as I feel I owe it so much. I have deleted all other videos that have any form of Copyright problem on them, which as I said were not ones that I needed to take action on, as a precaution. I would continue to upload videos, but I am now scared to do so, incase I incur a second strike and lose my account. I have many videos ready to upload which are over the 15 minute limit, as I did not think I would lose it, and would lose quality dramatically if I was to re-edit them. I have always been committed to quality, and would hate to change how I upload. The +15 Minute options has been astoundingly useful for me, as it allows me to upload whole Playthroughs in less videos than what I used to have to, which in turn means I have more time to focus on interacting with my subscribers and community. I would like to bring to your attention that I have never been in trouble on Youtube, I have followed Community Guidelines, and done my best to upload quality commentary. I do not want to lose my account, I am very proud of the things I have done because of it. I assure you I have tried to look for the right contact through the Help Pages/Forums, but none give me the option to speak to somebody directly, which in my case, I believe I need to with this situation. I did also ring your contact telephone number but was told by an automated response message that there was no live customer support. I have no problem with this, as I can imagine if you did have a live support service, you would be inundated with queries, so I decided to take the time and write you a letter in a last ditch hope that we could discuss my concerns. Yours sincerely, Necroscope86
