Wild Feral Hogs = Giant Rats! -Within the boundaries of reality, if you were to sit down at a computer and design a violent, destructive, rapidly reproducing and (worst of all) intelligent predator you would come up with the Wild Feral Hog. -Hogs are not 'game' animals to be hunted like deer (which have hunting seasons and strict rules). -Hogs, like rats, need to be eradicated in any way that is feasible. -Hog populations can double in 6 months. -Hogs have no significant natural predators to slow population growth, compete for food resources with 'game' animals and literally eat anything (rotten food, live or dead animals including dead hogs and deer corn coated with diesel fuel which is used as trap bait - I am serious). -Hogs are attracted to petrochemicals such as diesel fuel, creosote and used motor oil. -In Texas, it is legal to eradicate hogs 24/7/365 with no limits. Practically every weapon and even dogs are used to hunt down hogs. -When a sow (or mother) dies or is separated from the herd the piglets will nurse off of another sow. -Ranchers can get a permit for population control, allowing them to hire a helicopter and gunner to thin feral hog herds but helicopter companies can not sell hog hunts to the public. -
