Anniversaries: Eve of Remembrance Day events

The latest British soldier to die in Afghanistan was named today - on this, the eve of Remembrance Sunday. Jake Alderton was a Lance Corporal with 36 Engineer Regiment. He was 22 years old. In London, people visited the Field of Remembrance at Westminster Abbey and Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall led a service at the Cenotaph. Tonight the Queen was at the Royal Albert Hall for the festival of remembrance.
