Eurythmics star Annie Lennox has criticised the state of today's pop music, saying many acts are like sheep. She said: 'What concerns me is that people follow like sheep ... that's the dross.' Asked about reality pop shows such as Pop Idol and X Factor, she said: 'It's just Tescos. It's not the real deal.' However, her Eurythmics partner, Dave Stewart, had kinder words for today's pop hopefuls. He said: 'If they are great, and they happen to go into a competition and perform and win it, someone like Justin Timberlake or Robbie Williams, they came from a manufactured background, but if they're strong enough and creative enough, they'll climb out of it.'
