Anna Nicole Smith's former lover, Larry Birkhead, has been confirmed as the father of her seven-month old baby Dannielynn.Larry Birkhead won a tense paternity battle with the model's lawyer turned partner Howard K Stern, who was named on the birth certificate, and Zsa Zsa Gabor's husband Prince Frederick von Anhalt claiming to be the father."I hate to be the one to tell you this but, I told you so. I'm the father," said Mr Birkhead outside the court in Nassau.It's thought Mr Birkhead will now be awarded custody of the child although he couldn't give any details.The little girl could inherit the fortune her mother battled for during her lifetime.The former model died of an accidental drugs overdose after collapsing at a Florida hotel on February 8. A lengthy legal fight also ensued over who controlled her remains before she was finally buried in the Bahamas.The former pole dancer made headlines in 1994 when she married 89-year-old oil tycoon J Howard Marshall II, whose fortune was estimated at £300 million.© Independent Television News Limited 2007.
