It began prosaically-enough last November. A bulldozer clearing a site by the railway in Pisa. A woman archaelogist present just in case anything turned up. And out of blue, something did - a large piece of wood. A little careful digging, and they unearthed the outline of a boat - a roman boat. And it turned out to be just the first of many.
