This was a complete shock! We were coming home from Coal City and began driving by the Iowa Interstate tracks. While heading home, we heard the crew of Iowa 505 talking on the scanner. From the radio chatter that we heard, we knew that the train was close. We then went to a nearby crossing and there was a train approaching. Completely to my surprise, it was a different Iowa Interstate train! It was also a train that wasn't led by a GEVO and had two GP38-2's leading a GEVO! The unit numbers were 713, 703 and 508. With the GEVO's coming in, that's something that is getting harder and harder to see. This was something that hasn't happened to me ever since I started railfanning the IAIS. Two trains came in fifteen minutes! The BICB was so long this night that they had to make two trains. Very soon after 713's train passed, the second train came through with unit numbers 505 and 510. This was an incredibly rare catch! We ended up catching the second train again, a couple miles down the line. Please rate and comment! Filmed on November 9th, 2008.
